Sister Renée Mirkes takes a careful look at a new medical response to infertility that claims to be in accord with Catholic teaching, explaining how it differs from IVF, the moral implications involved, and the options available to infertile couples seeking to become pregnant. I was gratified to see that this important concern was included in the Prolife Novena (Day 7) and there are some helpful links therein. We should never diminish the suffering of infertile couples, and yet never can we compromise on ethical means to overcome the problem.
