Don't be put off by the idea of reading obituaries -- where else are lives summarised in a way that appreciates the whole person, their life's mission, the trajectory that may have lain hidden from so many while they lived among us? I find most of my "lives" in The [London] Telegraph
, which does a marvelous job of making so many people interesting and accessible. From luminaries to those who "played" supporting roles for others, from the dutiful to the exotic--you'll find them all there (and everyone in between),
The feminine-genius blog carries my commentary
on interesting women who have lived in our day. Some should be considered as heroic witnesses; others more as cautionary tales. These are by no means meant to be canonisations, and of course God may have understood them quite differently. Along mundane lines, though, these illustrated lives are quite remarkable and entertaining, so enjoy!
